Loki vs. Black Widow.
I absolutely love this moment because Black Widow is clever. She does not get flustered or begin smashing her fists or gigantic hammer. She gets information out of him alluding only to the red on her record.
She rules. I don’t understand how everyone says she’s so worthless or she’s “only eye candy” when she got intelligence out of a god and was the one who closed the portal with that god’s instrument (Is it a staff? I don’t know).
Black Widow is a badass. She even got Hawkeye out of his Loki stupor. She didn’t need her love interest to save her. She saved him, helped close the portal, and proved that you can look amazing and kick ass without resorting to the strong female character trope of calling other women weak.
Because I have been informed infinite times before that “Real” women have curves, or that “Real” women are thin.
Fact is, no woman is imaginary! Shocker, I know. We’re all real women, as real as can be, and equal in every way.
Real women are skinny, fat, thin, curvy, shapely, gangly, muscular, short, tall, big, small, voluptuous, big-boned, scrawny, and everything beyond or in between. Tattoos, or cosmetic surgery? Still real. Has a penis, but identifies as a woman? Real too.
This is what the positive body image movement is about. You do not need to dehumanize one body type just to respect your own.
And I’m not excluding men from this. I hope to draw a male version too.
